Blooming Together: St. John Community’s Garden Party

The Residence at St. John recently held a fun and colorful “garden party” to beautify the St. John Community campus. The event brought together residents, staff, and members of the Lutheran SeniorLife Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for a day of planting flowers and vegetables while showcasing The Residence’s strong resident bonds and creating a wonderful memory for everyone.

A special thanks goes to Gumto’s Greenhouse for their generous donation of over 200 flowers and various vegetables. Residents enjoyed planting an array of vibrant flowers such as Zinnias, Verbenas, Buddy Whites, Yellow Marigolds, and Celosias, as well as vegetables such as broccoli, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes, promising a bountiful harvest in the coming months.

“The garden party was a wonderful example of our incredible community here at St. John. The campus looks absolutely beautiful, thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved,” said Ashley Treadway, St. John Community Regional Marketing Manager, expressing her appreciation. “It was wonderful to see residents and staff bonding over such a meaningful project, and it provided a valuable opportunity for residents to engage in a fulfilling social activity.”

With the flowers now beautifully planted and the vegetables beginning to grow, they serve as a lasting reminder of a day well spent and the strong community spirit at St. John.
