Music in the Garden

Please join us for this fun summer concert series featuring a variety of genres ranging from New Orleans style music to Rock and Roll. The Sanctuary Jazz band will be performing Swing style music and Rock and Roll on July 14 at 2 p.m. Family, friends and residents are all welcome to attend this FREE event. Elder Law Educational Workshop

Please join us at Valley Care in Moon Township for an Elder Law Educational Workshop with Sechler Law Firm, LLC.  This event is perfect for caregivers and those who have questions about navigating care. The presentation will start off with a brief overview of the Valley Care program and move into covering some of the most frequently asked questions. A light dinner will also be provided during the event. This event is FREE to attend but registration is required as seats are limited. Forever Young Walk/Run

When: Saturday, June 23, 2018 - 10:00amWhere: Irvine Park Gazebo, 799 Corporation Street, Beaver, PA 15009

Help support the Center at the Mall by participating in the Forever Young 1 Mile & 5K Family Walk/Run. The 5K begins at 10:00am, and the 1-mile will follow at 10:05am.

Register online by clicking here or stop by the Center - located inside the Beaver Valley Mall - for a registration form.

Early registration (by June 2nd) = $15

Pre-registration (by June 22nd) = $20

Event Day registration = $25

5K includes cash prizes for the overall top male and female finishers and awards for top 3 finishers in all age groups.

Health & Wellness Fair

Where: St. Andrew Lutheran Church - 987 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township, PA 15108

You and your family and friends of all ages are invited to SPRING into better health at this health & wellness fair featuring a variety of health screenings and more than 20 interactive vendor exhibits on topics such as:

  • Healthy Eating
  • Personal Fitness
  • Disease Management
  • Caregiving
  • Home Safety
  • Healthy Aging

At 10:30am, 11:00am, and 11:30am, you can also drop in on a guest speaker presenting information on timely subjects like “Care Options for Seniors.”

This FREE event, presented by Valley Care Adult Day Services and St. Andrew Lutheran Church, includes all vendor exhibits, guest speakers, multiple door prizes, and refreshments!

VNA Friendship Luncheon

When: Saturday, May 19, 2018 -

Where: Butler Country Club

Please join us at the annual VNA, Western PA Friendship Luncheon. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. to give you plenty of time to share with friends, browse our vendor tables and participate in the basket raffle. Lunch will be served at noon. Tickets are $40 per person. Anointing & Appreciation Program

Where: St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland - 311 Cumberland Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237

Please join the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod and Lutheran SeniorLife for an afternoon of renewal and inspiration in honor of the people who make health and wellness ministry a part of congregations throughout the region.

The program will begin with a worship service in the sanctuary of St. John's, where Bishop Kurt F. Kusserow will preside. Worship will include Holy Communion and the opportunity to be blessed and anointed with oil.

Immediately following worship, we will recognize health ministry volunteers and health care professionals for their hard work and dedication. (It is no accident that this event falls during National Nurses Week!)

Even if you are not directly involved in health ministry, your presence can be a blessing to the individuals who strive to improve the health of our congregations and communities.

The afternoon will conclude with a reception in Highland Hall, which is adjacent to the sanctuary.

This year, we are proud to be honoring the Rev. Kurt Kusserow, Bishop of the Southwest PA Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Most Rev. David Zubik, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh for their ecumenical service and gift of leadership they provide throughout western PA. 

Tickets are $200 per person. Proceeds benefit Lutheran SeniorLife benevolent care.

Elder Care Seminar

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

When: Wednesday, April 04, 2018 -

Where: Center at the Mall, Beaver Valley Mall

Have a great dinner, participate in raffles and enjoy some entertainment - all while supporting our senior center programming!

Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., and take our orders are available beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 for an adult, $5 for children age six and under. The meal includes house salad, bread, spaghetti with meatballs, dessert and a beverage.

LIFE Programs Purse Bash

Low Vision Open House

Come and meet the Visual Rehabilitation Therapists at LIFE Butler County, to learn which therapies can help you compensate for your vision difficulties - keeping you safe and independent.

Black Tie Bingo Fundraiser

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we would love for you to join us for an elegant evening out to celebrate!

Enjoy dancing with live entertainment by the Cassanova Ensemble, dinner buffet and a cash bar, followed by bingo games called by local celebrities for $100 cash prizes. This year's celebrity bingo callers include comedian Tony "T-Robe" Roberson, Beaver County Times Entertainment Editor Scott Tady, United Way of Beaver County Executive Director Mike Rubino, and comedian Rodney Harris.

Also included is a basket raffle and silent auction. 

Proceeds benefit Lutheran Service Society's Center at the Mall senior center.

"Home Sweet Home" Gingerbread House Contest

Get your gingerbread on!

Passavant Community is holding a Gingerbread House contest as part of its Abundant Lights celebration. All residents, staff, families and members of the Zelienople community are invited to enter.

Completed houses can be brought to the Abundant Life Center between Weendsday, November 29 and Thursday, November 30th at 4 p.m. The houses will be on display in the Music Room during the Abundant Lights festival on Saturday, December 2, beginning at 4 p.m. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded that evening at 7:30 p.m.
